Tomas Lopez

Tomas Lopez, 98, entered into eternal rest on Sunday, August 16, 2026.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife, Manuela J. Lopez; his parents, Dario and Prisciliana Hinojosa; his son, Jose D. Lopez; his siblings, Valentina Fausto (Victor), Pascual Lopez (Maria), Maurilia Chavez (Tomas), Candelario Lopez (Olivia), and Gonzala Lopez; and one grandson.

Left to cherish his memory are his loving children, Tomas Lopez Jr. (Rosa Maria), Prisciliana Santa Cruz (Ramon), Thelma Lopez (†Jesus Nuñez), Leticia Gibbs (Kinny), Diana Laura Brothers (Scott), Juana Maria Martinez (Johnny), Rosa Alma Valdez (Salvador), Maria Esther Escobedo (Bobby), Juanita Bertha Mata (Eduardo), Sara Alicia Esquivel (†Mario), and Cristina Lopez; his daughter-in-law, Maricela Solis; 37 grandchildren; numerous great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren; and his siblings, Eduardo Lopez (†Ageda), Andrea Lopez, and Maria Rodriguez (†Elogio).

He is also survived by numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives, and many friends who will forever cherish his memory.

The family will receive relatives and friends on Sunday, August 23, 2026, from 5:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. at Hillside Funerals & Cremations, 310 W. Hillside Rd., Laredo, Texas 78041, where a rosary will be recited at 7:00pm. Visitation will continue on Monday, August 24, 2026, from 7:00 a.m. to 8:30 a.m.

A funeral procession will depart the funeral home at 8:30 a.m. for San Luis Rey Catholic Church, where a Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 9:00 a.m.

Interment will follow immediately at Calvary Catholic Cemetery, where Mr. Lopez will be laid to rest alongside his beloved wife.
